Tandem: Merging Forces to End Hopelessness and Empower Young People in the Chippewa Valley
Eau Claire, WI – October 1, 2024 – Tandem, a newly reformed organization dedicated to combating hopelessness and building intentional relationships, is excited to announce its official launch following the merger of Eau Claire Treehouse and Restorative Justice in April 2024. With a unified mission and expanded resources, Tandem is poised to enhance its impact on the Chippewa Valley community by fostering supportive relationships, providing restorative justice, and offering mentorship to young people.
About the Merger
The merger of Eau Claire Treehouse and Restorative Justice represents a significant step forward in our shared commitment to the community. Both organizations have a rich history of addressing issues of hopelessness and supporting local youth, and by coming together, we amplify our efforts and broaden our reach.
Mission and Vision
At Tandem, our mission is to end hopelessness by building intentional relationships. We envision a community where young people never feel alone or outcast but always have someone to confide in, whether visible or not. We are committed to creating a supportive environment where individuals can overcome challenges, heal, and change their paths for the better.
Programming
Tandem has three defined focus areas: Support Groups, which use the Treehouse Hope Curriculum to connect 13–18-year-olds through weekly meetings with meals, discussions, and activities, now expanding into local high schools; Restorative Justice, focusing on repairing trust and fostering healing through dialogue among victims, offenders, and community members; and Mentorship, which provides intentional, consistent relationships through natural interactions in support groups and events, including specialized support for those involved in restorative justice. The organization integrates these services to create a cohesive support network for youth, with a dedicated team ensuring effective implementation and mission fulfillment.
Tandem’s First Annual Fundraiser
On Saturday, November 16th, Tandem will hold their first annual fundraiser at Florian Gardens to celebrate the rebranding of the organization, share success stories, and raise money for their focus areas. Guests can expect a delicious meal, silent auction, and a performance from special guest and comedian, Jarell Roach aka “Mr. Hilarious Hope.” Tickets are available for purchase at https://www.tandemmentorship.org/celebration.
